When the game was new, it wasn't unusual to have a sense of exploration and reward for simply just venturing in different areas. This aspect has been lost over time simply because the game is old. There hasn't been anything new to explore for over a…

Add an Obelisk and ruined Tower for the mazes that only solos and/or small mans can use.
-
Nice troll post.
-
@Lurandal Fights are definitely still organic. I have no idea which group(s) are roaming EV unless I want to setup a fight which my group seldom does (i.e. maybe once per night). The "solo" areas can be organic as well if you don't reserve yourself …

Please explain. @Seamuss

I really want to know how these changes are so awful for the game as a whole and how it hurts the zerg play style. All I've read so far are complaints resulting in, "I don't like it." Please elaborate. @Badgor @Sovereign

I don't understand how these changes negatively impact anything. All this has done is given players who want fair fights a better chance at finding fair fights. It does nothing to stop players from adding, ganking, zerging, etc.

When's the last time you logged into Ywain, Solic? There's plenty of zerg action but that's not what the OP is asking for. These folks are suggesting for an easier version of the game, preferably where RNG > skill. I personally don't agree with t…

RNG battles are long gone. Time to learn the game.

Can always roam Doppel loops as a small man. Usually only casuals do that anyways so I don't think there's a shortage of options here. The game could definitely use more objectives, but that hasn't changed in nearly 20 years. Provide feedback with s…

Zerg or start learning how to be competitive. Small man really isn't a viable play style as the population is too low, imo.
-
Zerging has always been for casual play. The remaining play styles have always been more competitive because there's less opportunity to be carried. DAoC is a competitive game at its core. Numbers dilutes the competitiveness. I think you're just not…

The boxes should probably be moved outside the ruined areas, perhaps near the coast or somewhere in proximity to the maze. Can even start adding OW essences at the mazes. That way small mans have a place to go. Zergs have keeps Groups have EV…
-
Solos can still use the ruined areas and port readily between them. Not sure what the problem is tbh. Zergs should be going after other zergs and keeps. Leave the island for group play as it was with Agramon.

IIRC, Catacombs was closed to be revamped with updated end-game content. This was partially fulfilled via the Curse campaign but was never fully completed. I think they shifted their focus after the mass exodus occurred back in 2019 to retain the po…

Zergs on EV is a bad idea. WTB more group vs. group action.

WTB 200% RP weekend. Kk thx.

Since the event is coming to a close, I'll provide my feedback on it. First of all, good job at making updates/changes during this event. The "low level" buffs, advancing everyone into the same zone, and removing teleports from keeps were all gre…

Outside of nostalgia, I'm curious as to why a new server should be classic. I've never understood the hate against ToA expansions and beyond and I've played since pre-SI days. Yes, gear has evolved making prior equipment obsolete. This is a common p…

RR disparity is a poor argument considering that gap can be narrowed within a few weeks of casual play. I understand the templating part. It has less to do with equal footing, which is always fleeting, and more to do with a smaller skill gap (i.e. l…

Events aren't for everyone, but this one is clearly popular with the majority of the current player base. It's a great break from the stagnant RvR situation, imo. Remember, it's a temporary event so normal RvR will return soon.
-
The event is still using the RvR ruleset. While NF may be dead, RvR is still going on. It's just in a different zone. You'd have a point if they swapped to a PvP ruleset, but that didn't happen this time around.
-
The event didn't kill RvR. It killed NF. I think the fact that there are more people in the event than NF speaks to how well the event is actually doing. This is a good sign, imo. RvR will return to "normal" again in a few more days.
-
99% of "real" DAoC players are solo?! I think you're playing the wrong game.
-
Try it, then evaluate.
-
Good change. Should be enough action to get people leveled altogether now.
-
Good thing events are temporary / seasonal.
-
After having tried this event for the past couple nights, here are my observations and suggestions. Levels 1-4 and 5-9 instances are becoming increasingly difficult, more time consuming, and significantly less fun to get through. There are fewer …

What, if any, respec limitations will there be? And what are you going to do to prevent one realm from dominating the event again?
-
I don't think this will be nearly as popular...missed the ball again, imo. I hope you have something planned for NF immediately after.
-
The 8man game tends to be best after the zergs log during NA time, usually after 10 PM EST. Mondays and Tuesdays are sometimes good during NA prime time. You can state lfg in the 8v8 channel around then to find a group looking to fill. You'll have a…

What do you mean by realm hopping for RPs? Are you talking about players who bandwagon the biggest zerg or players who swap looking for fights as opposed to roaming the wind?

Why do you like the timer @DaRedANT ?

A realm timer isn't objectively good either soooooo. Welcome to making compromises.

I'd like to see PvP brought back in some form. Maybe invasion of home realms by enemy realms. Something way different than what we've had before but doesn't disrupt what we have now. That's a tall order but could be really cool because the possibili…

@Jorma Must have /uses really isn't a thing anymore because multiple items fill common uses now (PD and AoM charges for instance). Stat caps and bonuses are on a number of items as well. You can't max everything out so build diversity is large and p…

@Jorma Must be a language barrier because you seem to misunderstand me. If a classic server is released by BS that can be easily adapted by a shard, then the official server will die. Hence my point that it has to be unique in more ways than patch s…

@Jorma I'm talking about a future classic server, not Ywain. Why is it important to you to have multiple accounts? I thought the population would be large enough to remove its necessity. Care to elaborate? So you killed every class you fought o…

Drop the timer to 5 minutes and force all characters into relic town that are logged in NF. That way people can't swap to defend immediately which is what the majority of pro realm timer folks are arguing about. edit: Using a 50% RP potion is a…

@Jorma Problem is shards can make changes on a whim to be nearly identical to whatever BS does. They really need to do more than just carbon copy an old patch set with minor adjustments. Adding a completely new frontier would be one way to different…

@Jorma No.... I'm saying why pay for something you can get for free else where? The events have to come first and be unique so the new server doesn't bleed players after a month. BS is ridiculously slow when it comes down to updates / patches / new …

It is much harder to manage three bars worth of abilities than one. Not sure why you continue to argue against that by I digress. Yes, it does matter why people left in the first place and there are a variety of reasons over a nearly 20 year ti…
-
@Jorma So there's too many abilities in the expansions. You want a simpler version of the game. That's fine. The ToA bonuses bring you close to or at cap so you don't have to spend RSPs to reach them. Therefore, it inherently reduces the gap slightl…

@Grizlie Have you ever run a script before?

@Jorma Still not sure what's wrong with the expansion content. I personally like the extra ML and CL abilities. Stat caps and ToA bonuses are at a nice spot. Can reach break points and certain damage caps without having to invest a large amount of R…
