Is this the end of OW and Dragon's Curse Campaign?

Seeing the latest patch notes it makes me wonder if any of these PvE campaigns are going to be ran again. I didn't see patch notes about Curse being toned down in order for groups just to do it? Is this a thing that Broadsword are going to hot fix later?

To me it's a sad day to see everything just going to be thrown onto merchant but then this was the only alternative to the very buggy and bad content that came out of the campaigns. I think the majority would agree with me and say that the campaigns were just not up to DAoC standard and created a lot of chaos and frustration to completing it.

I think time will tell but I just feel we're not looking at the future of DAoC we're looking at short term solutions. Just remember not everyone wants to RvR all the time and scrapping the PvE side and not using at all now will create boredom. RvR is great at certain times but not all the time. The reason DAoC was great because you had the best of both worlds and no other game could provide that.

I hope this patch is successful and bring players back but I'm still not sure what Broadsword next intentions are in order to make the game fun!

  • Noone is stopping you PvEing, There were some changes thru Chapters 4-7 to speed it up dramatically.

    Tthe timeframe per item RvR'ing is weeks vs hours of PvE. And ofc you need can PvE on any alt for the items where as since they are non-tradable you need to RvR on that specific toon.
  • We have more to do on these, we know that and have said that, but they weren't aimed at being in 1.125. I wasn't clear about that when we discussed this before so apologies again on that.

  • Even with the new recipes, I would still run through these campaigns as I do enjoy some of the lore they bring.

    The BP cost is extremely high and then you FINALLY craft it and it's a 99% quality (jakes on you). Most of these f2p players will never be around long enough to craft these items...

    They will get farmed in their SC'd or King's gear templates by all of the rr11+

  • Yeah I can't see the 99% quality option making it to live. Especially considering the time sink involved with earning enough BP's just to craft a single piece of high end gear. 100% quality should be the only viable option,
  • What is the reasoning behind a 99? Makes 0 sense
  • If they leave it that way - people may continue to PVE. I, for one, would rather spend 3hrs in PVE then blow 400Kbp on a 99% - not only was it 99% but the BPs are now gone - and I could have done this for free and had more aurulite..
    Guess it depends on how you wish to allocate your game time.
