Typically a ban doesnt happen for just that. I'm happy for a thread to get locked due to baiting or spamming.

The usual scenario is that someone doesnt like to be told what to do, so they keep doing the same thing over and over (i.e. referencing videos, spamming names in similar post, etc.) I'm not an expert nor do i claim to understand human nature to a great extent, but its easy to see that when some people are told, "this is our forum, we are going to moderate it and do as we say or we are going to ban you".... well some people just have an authority complex and cannot relinquish that control.
