For PvE how much stealth, actual 50 or composite 50?

The title pretty much says it all. I know for RvR the wisdom seems to be to go actual 50, but I play strictly PvE so I'm wondering if that is still the way to go or if I would just be wasting points when it comes to not being detected by MOBs.

  • Comp stealth unless you want blur as a sin
  • Stealth over 50 does help against high level mobs, but it’s minimal, so prolly not worth it.

Regardless of play style, the higher your level of Stealth the better your odds of moving around undetected, regardless of what the most "knowledgable" players concur. Mosr RvR players swear by a composite 50 stealth, except my Level 39 Minstrel @ 39+9 Stealth sneaking up on a Level 50 Nightshade, claiming to be a 50+24 and supposedly MoS 9, would prove otherwise. clearly he was a "composite 50" stealth, or else he should have been able to see me from probably around 400 units, even though he was not stealthed.

After 50, you do receive a slightly lower bonus to remain concealed, but you still receive some kind of bonus.

I do not have access to any of the actual coding, since I am just a regular player to fully confirm the mechanics of PvE Stealth detection, but if you are facing a Purple Con enemy, that would be a mob 10 or more levels above your 50, which means you should have at least a 50+10 stealth skill to have the same level/range of detection by an enemy mob.

50+24 is the highest you can achieve, and most of the toughest named purple mobs cap out at Level 70.

Currently, my nightshade is 50+14 stealth, and she is 4L3(+3 to ALL specialization & +11 Item Bonus). She can sneak on Dopplegangers, that are red con and be practically on top of them with plenty of time to spare, before they can detect her, and even though Dopples give RPs on a kill, if they damage you above 50% of you HP and you suffer and RvR death, or they actually do kill you, your death is categorized as a PvE death and the enemy realm player scores 0 RPs for killing you.

So, you can use the anecdotal reference of Dopples for specing your Stealth Level accordingly, for PvE quests and encounters.
