No REALM TIMERS but do THIS instead

Here's my 2c worth...

Since it sounds like everyone is crying over the REALM TIMERS, on both sides, do the following to resolve the issue: Do NOT implement any REALM TIMERS at all. Allow everyone to freely log from one realm to another as it is today. Instead, when ANY toon collects RPs while logged on, if that ACCOUNT logs to another realm, let them, but then place a 30/60 minute timer on the new realm they log into where RPs are NOT received for the 30/60 minute cooldown period. If done this way, then ALL those peeps saying they ONLY log to keep action going … well, they can log another realm and keep action going, but they won't be REWARDED for bailing on a specific realm just to farm RPs. This way, those that hate realm hoppers will see they aren't being rewarded for hopping realms... and the realm hoppers can hop all they want, but no more RPs until the CD is over.

Problem solved...

  • Oh that sounds great! Make it 24 hours so once you swap, you have to wait till the next day if you want to make RPS.

Obviously the 30/60 minute timer would need to be applied to BOTH realms outside the one the toon is on when RPs are first collected. Otherwise these guys will simply log one realm (the realm they DONT want to play on), have the timer hit it, not engage in any PvP and log again into the other realm (they DO want to play on), thus avoiding the RP/CD.

This policy will help all of those that were complaining of paying for a game and not being allowed to play where they want WHEN they want. This allows you to play where you want WHEN you want but it won't allow you to manipulate the current game mechanics to pilfer RPs. It also helps promote ALLIANCE to the realm you're on as hopping will no longer reward you with instant RPs on the other side. If all you truly want is ACTION, this ensures there's still going to be action... whether you stay, fight and collect RPs or you leave, fight, and collect pats on the back! It's your choice either way.

@John_Broadsword / @Carol_Broadsword - Is there any chance something like this could be taken into consideration instead of FULL BLOWN Realm Timers?

Not a bad idea but which option would be easier with less chance of game crippling bugs?
Guessing they will go with the easier route.

  • Would prefer this over timers that's for sure
  • This was already proposed that the timer would be a no rp timer when swapping. I'd be 100% behind that implementation.
  • would be 75% for that.
  • Humm that a good idea , a good compromise at all
