Hybrid Friar Template

This is my new hybrid friar template. I had a choice to cap staff and raise spirit, but I'm going to take parry and let my racial cover the spirit resist. I could cap my piety, but I figured people would comment on not having any parry in this template. It uses a RoG shield with pp/cap and doppelganger arcane mace for casting stats. It has 25% power regen and 20% arcane siphon plus good melee stats so I think it should be a good small man/group template that allows for melee and good healing. My spec will be 50 staff, 37 Enhancement, 36 regrowth, and 5 Parry. Dex is a little lower than I'd like it but then there is a trade off between HPs and stats. I wish I could have included Bracer of Zo in this template; that's the biggest weakness I see, but I needed high utility items. One could use a Cudgel instead of the doppelganger mace and gain an ablative at the loss of capping power pool: 3% pp gain vs an ablative. I may use the cudgel.

Comments

  • nope can't use cudgel no arcane siphon
  • So here is something that can be done to fix the piety hole. If you switch the OW arcane ring for an OW adept, then imbue on the legs 29 quick 9 heat, 20 piety, and 4 parry and then on the feet do 29 quick, 4 parry, 3 energy, and 76 hps. Your total hps in this template will be 466 instead of 450, and your staff and parry will still be 10/10. Your piety will go to 98/98 which is better for casting stats. And to those worried about spell pierce in this template not having it for the excommunicate dd. I think you can gain 5% spell pierce from the arcane bracer
  • one thing I'd do is maybe keep the boots the same imbue and then I'd do 29 quick 9 heat 29 piety and 3 parry. You will lose out on that 16hp on the boot gain, but when you are swapping from s/s from staff you will go from 88 piety to 98 piety and the goal is not to have a chunk of your power bar missing when you raise your piety stat. You won't lose power going from 25% pp to 35% as with this rog shield in my template, but any time you change a stat you will lose in this case some power from swapping but by overcapping the piety it shouldn't be that noticeable.

    Pie not important. Sure it adds power but not as much as you might expect.

    Siphon>PW Regen>per pool>pie/emp (for friar, warden)

    I'd be more concerned about spec. Are you sure you need 50 staff?

    Tranquility is great for grouping, and I'd rather have the hot and 34/39 staff for solo.

    It's similar to the one I made.

    You'll have more power than me, I have 25 or 30 myth cc Redux though

    Good on you for a hybrid temp, I don't see to many wanting to play the role the class was originally designed for

  • I made some moditfications since. A friend told me to try out 44 rejuv, 39 staff, 37 enhance, and 19 parry. I like it so far. My hot on my lvl 34 staff along with the castable lvl 44 hot can keep people up for a while.
  • Unfortunately the change they made to hots not breaking sos resulted in a few hots not stacking.

    Holy staff and the castable hot included.

    The nerf to the Friar hot in the upcoming patch with make the Holy staff hot a bit more relevant however.
